Nepal Earthquake




The earthquake of 25 April 2015 (12th Baishakha, 2072) has affected 35 districts among 75 districts of Nepal. Of the 35 affected 23 districts are severely affected. 13 districts are declared most affected districts. Based on initial available information, it is estimated that half of the population in these districts will need support for a period to meet their needs for water supply, sanitation and hygiene and environment cleanliness meeting the minimum standards. This means an estimated 4.2 million people are in need of very urgent assistance. About 8ooo people lost their lives and 15000 wounded. The numbers may have thought increased. The people of  Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Dhading, Makwanpur, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Gorkha, Sindupalchok, Kavre are mostly affected by the earthquake. Millions of people have become house less. People are compelled to live under open sky. This Great disaster occurred in Nepal after 1934. The appreciable involvement of Nepalese Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police and rescue force from other country are working hard for rescue operation.
